Walk through the narrow Siq, explore ancient ruins, and feel the magic of a city once lost to time but never to legend.
Wadi Rum is a breathtaking desert landscape of towering sandstone mountains, narrow canyons, and endless red sand dunes. Known as the "Valley of the Moon," it has captivated explorers, filmmakers, and adventurers alike. This protected area offers jeep tours, camel rides, and overnight stays in Bedouin-style camps under star-filled skies. Its surreal terrain feels like another planet—truly a must-visit for nature and adventure lovers.
The Dead Sea, located at the lowest point on Earth, is renowned for its hyper-saline waters and rich mineral mud. Floating effortlessly on its surface is a unique experience, thanks to the high salt concentration. The area is also a haven for wellness and relaxation, offering therapeutic benefits and scenic views of surrounding desert landscapes. A visit to the Dead Sea promises both natural healing and unforgettable serenity.
Jerash is one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy, offering a stunning glimpse into ancient grandeur. Walk along its colonnaded streets, explore the magnificent Oval Plaza, and admire the imposing Hadrian’s Arch. The well-preserved theaters, temples, and forums bring the Greco-Roman world to life. Jerash is a true archaeological gem where history echoes through every stone and column.
Ajloun is a lush, green highland region famous for its scenic landscapes and the impressive 12th-century Ajloun Castle. Built by Saladin’s forces to defend against Crusader attacks, the fortress offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The area is also known for its oak forests and eco-trails, making it ideal for hiking and nature walks. Ajloun perfectly blends natural beauty with rich Islamic history.
Umm Qais, the site of ancient Gadara, offers a captivating mix of history and breathtaking views. Scattered across Jordan’s eastern desert, the Desert Castles are a series of unique structures built during the Umayyad era. These include Qasr Amra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rare frescoes, Qasr Kharana with its mysterious architecture, and the isolated Qasr Al-Azraq, once used by Lawrence of Arabia. These castles reflect early Islamic art, architecture, and life on the edge of the empire’s frontier.
Madaba is famed for its Byzantine mosaics, especially the 6th-century Mosaic Map of the Holy Land housed in St. George’s Church. Nearby, Mount Nebo offers panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and, on clear days, Jerusalem—believed to be the place where Moses glimpsed the Promised Land. Together, these sites blend spiritual significance with artistic and historical treasures that enrich any Jordanian journey.
The Baptism Site, also known as Bethany Beyond the Jordan, is a place of profound spiritual significance. Recognized as the location where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site visited by pilgrims from around the world. Set along the Jordan River, the site features ancient churches, baptismal pools, and archaeological remains that offer a deeply moving historical and religious experience.

Explore the full itinerary below to see how your Jordanian experience will unfold, day by day.
Your Jordanian adventure begins with your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Amman. Upon landing, you'll be warmly welcomed by a representative from Jordan Horizons Tours, who will assist with immigration procedures and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel in the heart of the capital.
After checking in, take the rest of the day to relax and settle in. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to begin exploring Amman. Consider a leisurely stroll through the bustling streets of downtown, visit a cozy café, or enjoy a traditional Jordanian meal. In the evening, Amman comes alive with vibrant energy—discover local markets, rooftop lounges, and panoramic views of the illuminated Citadel.
Overnight in Amman
After breakfast at the hotel, begin your day with a journey into Jordan’s eastern desert to explore the famed Desert Castles—remarkable examples of early Islamic art and architecture. These historic structures were built by the powerful Umayyad dynasty. Visit three of the most iconic sites:
•Qusayr Amra (UNESCO World Heritage Site): Once a royal retreat and hunting lodge, this well-preserved site is renowned for its 8th-century frescoes depicting scenes of leisure and luxury, including music, dancing, and bathing.
•Qasr Kharana: A striking two-story fortress displaying a fusion of Mesopotamian, Arabic, and Greco-Roman influences in its architecture and layout.
•Qasr al-Azraq: Built from distinctive black basalt stone, this fortress gained prominence as the headquarters of T.E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia") during the Arab Revolt.
Return to Amman and continue your exploration with a guided city tour. Begin in downtown Amman, home to some of the city's most important historical sites. Visit the Citadel, offering panoramic views and home to ancient ruins from the Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic periods, as well as the Archaeological Museum.
Stroll through the lively souqs to experience local culture and commerce, then visit the grand Roman Theatre, a 2nd-century structure that once accommodated up to 6,000 spectators.
Enjoy free time to wander the streets of downtown Amman at your own pace. Be sure to try the famous Kunafa at Habibah Sweets, and consider stopping by Hashem Restaurant, a beloved local spot, for lunch or dinner.
Overnight in Amman
After breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver in the lobby and begin your journey north.
Your first stop is Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns in the world, often referred to as the "Pompeii of the East." Originally established by Alexander the Great, Jerash flourished under Roman rule as a prominent city of the Decapolis. Enjoy a 1.5-hour guided tour of this archaeological marvel. Highlights include Hadrian’s Arch, built in 130 AD to honor Emperor Hadrian’s visit, the Hippodrome, which seated up to 15,000 spectators, the impressive Oval Plaza (Forum), the grand Temple of Artemis with its towering 12-meter columns, the Colonnaded Street, and the ornate Nymphaeum.
Continue through scenic landscapes of pine forests and olive groves to reach Ajloun, where you'll visit Ajloun Castle (Qal'at Ar-Rabad). This 12th-century fortress was built by one of Saladin’s generals during the campaign against the Crusaders. The castle is well-preserved and easy to explore independently, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Next, head further north to Umm Qais, perched on a hilltop near the borders with Israel and Syria. The site offers panoramic views of the Sea of Galilee, the Yarmouk River, and the Golan Heights. Explore the ancient Greco-Roman city of Gadara, another Decapolis city, known from the New Testament as the place where Jesus performed the miracle of casting demons into a herd of pigs. Among the ruins are a colonnaded street, two theatres, and a vaulted terrace. This site is easy to navigate on your own, with clear signage and information boards.
After a day filled with history and spectacular views, return to Amman in the evening.
Overnight in Amman
Today, embark on a journey steeped in history, spirituality, and architectural wonders as you travel from Amman to the legendary city of Petra. Along the scenic King’s Highway, you’ll explore some of Jordan’s most cherished historical and religious sites.
Your first stop is Madaba, known as the City of Mosaics. This charming town is home to the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, beautifully displayed on the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Madaba’s rich heritage, colorful mosaics, and welcoming atmosphere make it a cultural gem not to be missed.
Just a short drive from Madaba lies Mount Nebo, a sacred biblical site believed to be where Moses first saw the Promised Land before his death. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and—on clear days—even the rooftops of Jerusalem. The site also features ancient church ruins and exquisite mosaics, offering both spiritual reflection and historical depth.
Continuing south, you’ll arrive at the impressive Kerak Castle, one of the largest Crusader fortresses in the Levant. Built in the 12th century, the castle’s strategic location and towering structure once made it a formidable stronghold. Explore its vast network of tunnels, halls, and defensive passages, and delve into its dramatic history of battles and sieges.
