Amman is home to a rich Islamic heritage. Begin in the Old City, where narrow streets and vibrant souks blend with historic mosques. Visit the Al-Husseini Mosque, originally built in 640 CE and reconstructed in 1924, which marks one of the oldest Islamic structures in the capital. Discover the King Abdullah I Mosque, known for its grand blue dome and built as a memorial to the late king’s grandfather. End at the Abu Darwish Mosque, a striking black-and-white stone structure perched on Jabal Ashrafieh, offering panoramic views and deep cultural symbolism.
Located near Amman, this cave is believed by many to be the site where seven young believers, known as the "People of the Cave," sought refuge from persecution and miraculously slept for over 300 years, as described in the Quran (Surah Al-Kahf). The site includes tombs and a small mosque, and it is an important spiritual location reflecting faith, endurance, and divine protection.
These three mosques represent different architectural styles and historical eras:
Abu Darwish Mosque: A modern mosque with unique black-and-white checkered stones, located on one of Amman’s highest hills.
Al-Husseini Mosque: A central mosque with deep roots in Islamic history, located in downtown Amman.
King Abdullah I Mosque: A modern symbol of Islamic unity and a cultural hub with a museum and prayer hall accommodating thousands of worshippers.
Tombs of the Companions (Al-Sahaba): Located in the Jordan Valley, these include the final resting places of revered companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), such as Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah, Mu'adh ibn Jabal, Dirar ibn al-Azwar, and others. These sites serve as spiritual and educational landmarks.
Shrine of Prophet Shoaib: Found near Al-Salt, this shrine honors Prophet Shoaib (Jethro), a respected figure in Islamic tradition. It's a peaceful spot for reflection and prayer.
Built in 1184 by Izz ad-Din Usama, a general under Salah al-Din (Saladin), Ajloun Castle is a fine example of Islamic military architecture. The fortress was designed to protect the region from Crusader incursions and control the iron mines of Ajloun. Visitors can explore its towers, courtyards, and strategic hilltop position offering breathtaking views.
Scattered across Jordan’s eastern desert, these castles were built during the Umayyad Caliphate (7th–8th centuries) as caravan stations, agricultural estates, and hunting lodges. Notable examples include:
Qasr Amra (UNESCO World Heritage Site): Known for its vibrant frescoes.
Qasr Kharana: A mysterious fortress-like structure.
Qasr Al-Azraq: Used by Lawrence of Arabia, it showcases basalt architecture.
Located near Safawi in the Jordanian desert, this ancient tree is believed to be the place where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as a young boy traveling with his uncle, was shaded during a trade caravan. Christian monk Bahira reportedly recognized signs of prophethood in the boy during this encounter. The site is now fenced and revered by visitors as the only living tree remaining from that era.
Though primarily associated with the Prophet Moses (PBUH), Mount Nebo is respected in Islamic tradition as well. From this elevated site, visitors enjoy sweeping views over the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Jerusalem. It symbolizes reflection on the shared heritage between Abrahamic religions.
Karak Castle: A Crusader stronghold later used by Muslim rulers, featuring Islamic inscriptions and offering insight into the military architecture of the period.
Battle of Mutah Site: Near Karak lies the battlefield of Mutah (629 CE), where Muslims first clashed with Byzantines.
Shrines of Martyrs: Visit the resting places of three companions martyred in the battle—Zaid ibn Harithah, Ja’far ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah ibn Rawahah—important figures in Islamic history.
Built in 1115 AD by Crusaders and later taken over by Ayyubid forces, Shobak Castle contains Islamic-era inscriptions and features. The castle stands on a hill in a remote desert landscape, offering a glimpse into the region’s turbulent history and Islamic reclaiming of once-Crusader lands.
Located near Ghor Safi, this cave is believed to be where Prophet Lot (PBUH) sought refuge with his daughters after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The site includes Byzantine church ruins, mosaics, and a stairway to the cave itself, connecting biblical and Islamic narratives of morality and divine justice.
This lowest point on Earth is mentioned in Islamic and biblical tradition. It’s near the site of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, making it significant in Prophet Lot’s (PBUH) story. Today, it's a peaceful destination known for healing minerals and therapeutic waters, allowing time for spiritual reflection and relaxation.
Petra :
Though not an Islamic site, Petra is a highlight of Jordan’s heritage. This ancient Nabataean city reflects the intersection of civilizations that shaped the region. Muslim rulers later passed through Petra, and it remained an important location during Islamic periods. The city’s blend of architecture, history, and natural wonder makes it an essential stop.
Wadi Rum :
Also known as the “Valley of the Moon,” this majestic desert is deeply connected to the Bedouin way of life. Though not a religious site per se, its cultural richness, natural beauty, and mention in historic Islamic texts make it a unique addition. Visitors experience the desert on 4x4 tours, sleeping in camps under starry skies, and connecting to a lifestyle grounded in hospitality and simplicity.
Experience the spiritual and historical richness of Jordan with this meaningful 8-day Islamic tour, carefully crafted to explore the country’s most revered Islamic sites, cultural treasures, and breathtaking landscapes. From the vibrant capital of Amman to ancient caves, mosques, companion shrines, and the legendary city of Petra, this journey offers a deep connection to Islamic history and Jordan’s enduring faith.
Walk in the footsteps of Prophets and Sahaba as you visit places like the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, the tombs of the Prophet’s companions in the Jordan Valley, the shrine of Prophet Shoaib, and the battlefields of Mutah. Reflect in the majestic mosques of Amman, marvel at the Islamic architecture of Ajloun and Shobak Castles, and find peace at the Dead Sea and the Blessed Tree—believed to have sheltered the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his youth.
Each day offers a balance of spiritual depth, cultural immersion, and scenic beauty, providing an unforgettable experience for Muslim travelers, families, and those interested in Islamic history.

Located in Amman, the Royal Automobile Museum showcases the rich automotive heritage of the Jordanian royal family. Inaugurated by King Abdullah II in 2003, it honors his father, King Hussein, an avid car collector. The museum features over 70 classic cars and motorcycles, many personally owned by King Hussein. Highlights include a 1952 Aston Martin DB2 and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. Visitors can explore the history of automotive technology through interactive exhibits and guided tours. Situated in King Hussein Park, it offers a unique glimpse into Jordan's royal culture and modernization.
For a truly immersive experience in Jordan’s UNESCO-protected Wadi Rum, embark on a camel ride. Traditionally used by Bedouin nomads, camel rides offer a sustainable way to explore the desert’s unique landscapes, where 4x4 vehicles can’t always go. Whether it’s a short ride around a Bedouin camp or a full-day adventure, the journey lets you discover iconic sites like Lawrence Spring, the Red Sand Dune, and Khazali Canyon. Camel rides offer a slower pace, perfect for soaking in the desert’s natural beauty. Enhance your experience with a Bedouin-style meal or stargazing under the desert sky.
