Allenby Border/ King Hussein Bridge/ Border Crossing

Allenby crossing point : Tours to Jordan from Israel

King Hussein Bridge/Border Crossing(Allenby Border)

Location:

Located in the southern Jordan Valley, 57 km from Amman, 220 km from Petra, and 320 km from Wadi Rum. On the Palestinian side, it is near Jericho.

Important Note:

Please note that border procedures, costs, and regulations may change without prior notice. While we strive to keep you updated, we cannot control these changes. Be prepared to remain flexible with any border crossing.

This is the most famous crossing and the primary point for Palestinians to travel within the region. It is also the closest border crossing for tourists arriving in Jordan from Jerusalem.

Jordanian Perspective on the Crossing:

Jordanians do not view this crossing as an official border since it enters the West Bank. Therefore, travelers can cross and return through this point only with a single-entry Jordan visa, typically obtained at the airport. If arriving on a manifest, the departure and re-entry details must be clearly stated. Otherwise, a visa fee will apply (see notes below).

We offer a special Meet and Assist Service for our guests arriving at the Allenby Bridge / King Hussein Border. Normally, visas should be obtained in advance, but as a special service for our clients, we can facilitate your visa on arrival, especially if you're staying 2 or more consecutive nights in Jordan.

For this service, we will handle the necessary paperwork in advance, including your passport details, accommodation, itinerary, and arrival/departure information, which will be submitted on a "manifest." This allows us to meet you upon arrival and assist with your entry process.

Without the meet-and-assist service, you must arrange your visa in advance, as visas are not issued on arrival without this service.

Your vehicle will drop you outside the Israeli terminal. Enter and proceed to the exit tax kiosk to pay your departure tax (payable in local currency, USD, or Euros).
Take the exit tax invoice to the immigration counter along with your passport.
After processing, wait in the designated seating area until you are called to board your shuttle bus.

Between the Border Terminals:
Wait for your shuttle bus. Be aware that there are different buses for tourists, Jerusalem residents, and West Bank Palestinians. Ensure you board the correct bus.
The Jordanian police will collect your passports during the journey. They will be handed over to Jordanian immigration when you arrive at the Jordanian terminal.

Yes, we can arrange private transfers from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. Please note that private transfers in Israel can be expensive. For rates and further details, contact us directly.

For groups with a licensed transport company, your vehicle can enter no-man’s-land and transport you across from the Israeli departure terminal to the Jordanian arrivals terminal. This eliminates the need to wait for the public shuttle bus. Upon reaching the Jordanian terminal, our guide will meet you and assist with the visa-on-arrival process.

If your first point of entry into Jordan was Queen Alia International Airport, your passport will have a Jordan entry stamp. If you plan to cross into Israel and do not intend to return to Jordan, you may not have an exit stamp from Jordan, which could raise questions about how you exited.

To avoid this, inform airport staff upon arrival that you plan to cross into Israel. Request that your visa be issued on a separate piece of paper rather than inside your passport. However, approval is not guaranteed, and it depends on security discretion.

Typically, the Israeli border control at Allenby Bridge will stamp your passport. You can request that they stamp a separate document instead of your passport, but make sure to ask clearly. While not guaranteed, the Israeli authorities will likely accommodate this request.
