JHT Payment Methods , conditions, cancellation and refund policy



Professional English speaking drivers and guides in Jordan for private and group tours and trips of Jordan


Effective from November 1, 2023

-A minimum deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking for all tours. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 45 days prior to the tour’s start date.

-For bookings made within 45 days of the arrival or commencement date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

-For online bookings—such as those made through our website—full payment is required regardless of the booking date. All bookings are subject to the terms and policies outlined below.

1. Payment Methods

For customized tour bookings (excluding online bookings for tours available on our website—see the "Online Bookings" section below), payment for both the deposit and the remaining balance can be made using one of the following methods:

You may use a Visa or Mastercard (credit or debit card) to make advance payments through Middle East Payment Services (MEPS). A 3% surcharge applies to all card payments to cover merchant fees.

A. Credit/Debit Card Payment via Online Secure Link

To make a payment online, please contact us to request a secure payment link. This will allow you to process the transaction safely.

All card payments are processed by MEPS Jordan. Once completed, an invoice will be automatically generated for the charged amount, which will appear on your card statement.

Please note: Payments will be charged in Jordanian Dinar (JOD).
The current exchange rate is $1 USD = 0.708 JOD (subject to change based on currency fluctuations).
The 3% surcharge is applied to cover merchant fees.

B. Credit/Debit Card Payment via Authorization Form (Offline)

If you prefer to pay offline, you can complete a Credit Card Authorization Form, which can be downloaded from this link: [Credit Card Authorization Form]

Alternatively, upon request, we can provide a secure Online JHT Mail Order/Authorization Form as an alternative to the downloadable version.

  • A copy of both sides of the credit card being used for payment

  • A copy of the passport of the cardholder (the person responsible for the booking)

Bank transfers are accepted for payments made at least 45 days before the commencement of the tour.

Please note that the IBAN and account details provided are for payments in United States Dollars (USD) only. The amount transferred to this account must be in USD.

If you wish to make your payment in Euros (EUR) or Jordanian Dinar (JOD), please be aware that different IBANs apply. Kindly contact us directly to request the appropriate banking details for those currencies.

⚠️ Payments made in currencies other than USD to the provided USD account may result in delays or additional banking charges, for which JHT cannot be held responsible.

For international transfers to Jordan, you must include the Travel and Tourism Purpose Code (0404).

  • You are required to cover all bank and transfer fees (from both your bank and ours) to ensure that the full payment amount is received.

A 5% surcharge will be added to the final agreed amount to cover PayPal fees and charges.

Important: Please send a copy of the PayPal transfer confirmation by email.

If you wish to make your payment via Western Union or MoneyGram, please contact us directly for full recipient details.

Note: You are responsible for covering any transfer fees associated with this method to ensure that the total tour amount is received in full.

2. Cancellation Policy 

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect yourself in the event of a tour cancellation or unforeseen circumstances that may disrupt your travel plans. Travel insurance can help cover any non-refundable expenses you may incur.

Please review our Cancellation Policy and Refund terms, which vary depending on the type of tour booked (i.e., multi-day tours, day tours, multi-day shore excursions, or shore excursion day tours):


1. Cancellation Fees and Charges

For tours with overnight stays, the following scale of charges applies based on the number of days' notice given:

  • From time of confirmation – 46 days prior to trip start date:
    An administrative fee of 10% of the total tour package price, or $100 USD, whichever is higher, will apply.

  • 30 – 45 days prior to trip start date: 25% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 21 – 29 days prior to trip start date: 50% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 15 – 20 days prior to trip start date: 75% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 0 – 14 days prior to trip start date: 100% of the total package price will be charged.

  • No show: 100% of the total package price will be charged.

2. Transfer of Booking

Transferring a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is considered a cancellation of the original booking. You may choose one of the following options:

  • A refund, in accordance with the above cancellation scale, or

  • A credit note to be used towards a future tour, subject to agreement with your JHT sales agent.

Please refer to the Postpone Trips (to another date) section below for additional information.

3. Unused Services

No refund will be issued for any unused services on or after the tour’s commencement date.

4. Third-Party Supplier Policies

Please note that some hotels and third-party suppliers have cancellation policies that may differ from ours. In such cases, their cancellation policy will apply to accommodation charges. You will be notified if this applies to your booking.

5. Travel Warnings or Conflict Situations

If there is a travel warning for Jordan or conflicts in neighboring countries, cancellation is permitted up to 7 days before the tour’s start date. In this case, a 25% administrative fee will be deducted from the tour package price, and the remaining balance will be refunded.

6. Refund Process

  • A) Refunds will be issued using the same method of payment as the original booking, unless you request an alternative method. Any bank charges, credit card fees, or other payment-related fees incurred will be deducted from the refund and are not covered by JHT.

  • B) If the original payment was made via credit card but you are unable to receive a refund to that card (e.g., if the card is blocked or disabled), alternative refund methods (e.g., PayPal, wire transfer) can be arranged. Any fees or surcharges associated with these alternative methods will be the responsibility of the guest and will not be covered by JHT.

For Day Tours / Trips, the following cancellation conditions and policies apply:

1. Cancellation Fees and Charges

  • Up to 10 days before the day of the tour: You will receive a refund of the amount paid, minus an administrative fee of 25% of the tour value. If the 25% fee is less than $35 USD per person, a $35 USD administrative fee per person will apply.

  • Within 10 days of the tour: 100% cancellation fee applies, and no refund will be provided.

2. Transfer of Booking

Transferring a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is considered a cancellation of the original booking. You may choose to:

  • Receive a refund in accordance with the cancellation terms above, or

  • Receive a credit note to use toward a future day tour, subject to agreement with your JHT sales agent.

Please see the Postpone Trips (to another date) section for further details.

3. Unused Services

No refund will be provided for any unused services on or after the commencement date of the tour.

4. Travel Warnings or Conflict Situations

If a travel warning for Jordan or conflicts in neighboring countries arise, cancellation is possible up to 10 days before the tour starts. In this case, a full refund will be issued, minus an administrative fee of 25% of the total package price. If the 25% fee is less than $35 USD, a $35 USD administrative fee will be applied.

5. Refund Process

  • A) Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment as the original booking, unless you request a different method. Any bank charges, credit card fees, or other payment-related fees incurred will be deducted from the refund and are not covered by JHT.

  • B) If the original payment was made by credit card and you are unable to receive a refund to that card (e.g., if the card is blocked or disabled), we can arrange for alternative refund methods (e.g., PayPal, wire transfer). Any fees or surcharges associated with these alternative methods will be the responsibility of the guest and not covered by JHT.

For all shore excursions that include an overnight stay in Jordan, the following cancellation terms and conditions apply:

1. Cancellation Fees and Charges

The same cancellation policy applies as for standard multi-day tours:

  • From the time of confirmation up to 46 days prior to the trip start date: An administrative fee of 10% of the total tour value will be charged. If 10% is less than $100 USD, then a $100 USD fee applies.

  • 30 to 45 days before the trip start date:  25% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 21 to 29 days before the trip start date:  50% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 15 to 20 days before the trip start date:  75% of the total package price will be charged.

  • 0 to 14 days before the trip start date, or in case of no-show:  100% of the total package price will be charged.

2. Transfer of Booking

Transferring a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is considered a cancellation of the original booking. You may choose to:

  • Receive a refund in accordance with the cancellation terms above, or

  • Obtain a credit note to be used for a future tour, as agreed with your JHT sales agent.
    (Please refer to the "Postpone Trips to Another Date" section.)

3. No Refund for Unused Services

No refund will be provided for the cancellation of unused services on or after the tour's commencement date.

4. Third-Party Supplier Policies

Some hotels and third-party service providers may have cancellation policies that differ from those outlined above. In such cases, their specific cancellation policy will apply to any charges incurred. Your JHT sales agent will inform you of any such terms if applicable.

5. Additional Considerations for Private or Group Bookings

  • A) In the event of a travel warning to Jordan or regional conflict, you may cancel up to 7 days prior to the start of the tour. A 25% administrative fee will apply, in addition to any cancellation penalties from third-party providers. The remaining balance will be refunded.

  • B) If your cruise ship is unable to dock in Aqaba Port due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be refunded the amount paid, less a 25% administrative fee and any applicable third-party cancellation penalties.

  • C) For individual cancellations within a group or private tour, an administrative fee of 25% per person will be applied. Third-party supplier penalties may also apply, and the remainder will be refunded.

  • D) If an individual cancels within a group or private tour, the tour price for remaining participants may change depending on the final group size. Your JHT sales agent will recalculate and communicate any updated pricing. If the group falls below the minimum required, a surcharge may be imposed.

6. Refund Method

  • A) Refunds will be issued using the original payment method, unless otherwise specified. Bank, credit card, or payment gateway fees are not covered by JHT and will be deducted from the refund amount.

  • B) In cases where the original payment card is no longer valid (e.g., blocked or disabled), refunds may be processed via alternative methods such as PayPal or wire transfer, as agreed with your JHT sales agent. Any associated fees or surcharges will be the responsibility of the guest.


Important Note

JHT reserves the right to cancel any tour if full payment is not received at least 48 hours before the scheduled trip date. This deadline is critical as we must submit documentation to obtain port access permits. If payment is not received by then, the trip will be automatically cancelled, and your JHT sales representative will notify you unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.

For shore excursions that do not include an overnight stay (single-day tours), the following policies apply:

1. Cancellation Timeline and Fees

  • Cancellations made 45 days or more before the tour date will receive a refund less a 25% administrative fee per person.
    If 25% of the tour price is less than $50 USD per person, a minimum fee of $50 USD per person will apply.

  • Cancellations made within 0–45 days of the tour date will be charged 100% of the tour price, and no refund will be provided.

2. Transfer of Bookings

Changing a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is considered a cancellation of the original booking.
You may choose to:

  • Receive a refund (as per the cancellation terms above), or

  • Apply the balance as a credit toward a future tour, in coordination with your JHT sales agent.
    (Please refer to the “Postpone Trips to Another Date” section.)

3. Unused Services

There will be no refund for unused services after the tour has commenced.

4. Private or Group Tour Bookings – Additional Cases

  • A) In the event of a travel warning to Jordan or instability in neighboring countries, you may cancel up to 7 days before the tour start date. A 25% administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.

  • B) If the cruise ship is unable to dock at Aqaba Port due to weather or other conditions, JHT will refund your payment less a 25% administrative fee.

  • C) For individual cancellations within a group or private booking, JHT will deduct a 25% administrative fee per person.
    If 25% is less than $50 USD per person, then $50 USD per person will be charged. The remaining balance will be refunded.

  • D) If a participant cancels within a group/private tour, the overall group quotation may be revised based on the final participant count.
    If the revised number falls below the minimum threshold, a surcharge may apply, to be advised by your JHT sales agent.

5. Refund Method

  • A) Refunds will be processed using the original payment method, unless you request a different method. Any bank, credit card, or payment gateway fees are not covered by JHT and will be deducted from the refund.

  • B) If the original payment method cannot be used (e.g., blocked or expired credit card), refunds may be issued through alternative methods (PayPal, wire transfer, etc.) as agreed with your JHT sales agent. All related fees for alternative refund methods will be the responsibility of the guest.


*Important Note

JHT reserves the right to cancel the tour if full payment is not received at least 48 hours before the trip date.
This is required as our team must submit paperwork to Jordanian authorities in advance to obtain permits for port access.
If payment is not received by this time, the tour will be automatically cancelled, and your JHT sales representative will notify you unless an alternate arrangement has been agreed upon.

⚠️ Important: We recommend considering certified travel insurance providers such as World Nomads, Allianz Travel Insurance, AXA Travel Insurance, and IMG Global (International Medical Group). For additional options, please refer to the "Recommended Travel Insurance Providers for Your Trip to Jordan" section above. Alternatively, you are welcome to choose any certified travel insurance provider in your country of residence. Upon request, Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT) will provide the necessary documentation to support your insurance claim.

3. REFUNDS - Please check the refund policy below :

A) Refunds will be issued using the same method of payment used at the time of booking, unless you request an alternative method. Any bank charges, credit card fees, or other payment processing fees incurred—which are not covered by JHT—will be deducted from the refund amount.

B) In the rare event that a refund cannot be processed back to the original credit card (e.g., if the card is blocked, expired, or disabled), an alternative method such as PayPal, wire transfer, or another agreed option may be used. In such cases, all associated surcharges and transaction fees for the alternative refund method will be borne solely by the guest and will not be covered by JHT.

4. Additional Policies Concerning Payments, Cancellations,Postponement,  and Refunds

At Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT), we are committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in all aspects of our services. The following policies outline important terms related to payments, cancellations, postponements, refunds, guest conduct, and online bookings. These policies are designed to protect the interests of both our valued guests and our company. We encourage all travelers to review the information carefully before confirming their trip, so that they are fully informed about their rights and responsibilities.
Please check the detailed policies below to ensure you are fully aware of all applicable terms before proceeding with your booking.


In certain general and specific circumstances, guests may need to postpone their trip to a later date. This may arise due to personal reasons or external factors beyond their control. JHT allows trip postponement without cancellation fees in the following three scenarios:


1. Regional Conflicts or Travel Advisories

If a conflict arises in a neighboring country and/or an official travel warning is issued for Jordan, clients may request to postpone their trip. Each case will be reviewed individually and handled in direct coordination with your JHT sales agent.


2. Cruise Ship Schedule Changes (Aqaba Shore Excursions)

If a scheduled cruise ship fails to dock at Aqaba Port due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, postponement of the shore excursion is permitted. This situation will also be handled on a case-by-case basis with your JHT sales agent.


3. Personal or Exceptional Circumstances

If a guest needs to postpone their tour due to personal matters—such as work obligations, family issues, or unexpected events—the request must be communicated to JHT no later than 21 days (3 weeks) prior to the original arrival date. This must be coordinated and agreed upon with your JHT sales agent.


Important Notes on Postponement

  • Requests made less than 21 days prior to the original arrival date will not be accepted for postponement. In such cases, our standard payment and cancellation policy will apply, which states:

    "Transfer of a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is deemed a cancellation of the original booking. There will be no refund for cancellation of unused services on or after the commencement date."

  • If your trip qualifies for postponement under the three cases above, a 10% transfer fee will apply. This fee covers the administrative work required to reschedule your tour.

  • Postponed trips must be rebooked and completed within 12 months (1 year) of the original tour date.

  • Postponement is subject to hotel availability in the case of Multi-Day Tours. If a hotel from the original itinerary is not available on the new dates, alternative arrangements will be offered and advised by your JHT sales agent.

1. Rates and Pricing Policy

All rates are subject to availability and may change without prior notice in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. Adjustments may occur due to factors including, but not limited to:

  • Fuel price fluctuations

  • Increases in government-imposed entrance fees, guide/escort fees, visa charges, and departure taxes

  • Changes to VIP crossing or shuttle fees

  • Modifications in hotel or camp accommodation rates

  • Variations in pricing for jeep tours, optional excursions, and meals (e.g., restaurants)

  • Any other elements included in the confirmed itinerary


2. Itinerary Amendments by JHT

JHT reserves the right to amend the itinerary when necessary due to service demands, road closures, adverse weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances. If any change is of significant impact, customers will be notified in writing.
JHT will not be held liable for services that cannot be provided due to components becoming unavailable for reasons beyond our control. In such cases, applicable refunds will be processed accordingly.


3. Amendments Requested by the Guest

All requests to modify a confirmed final itinerary must be submitted in writing. While we strive to accommodate all guest requests, changes requested close to the arrival date—or during the tour—may not always be feasible, especially if they exceed our operational capacity or standard procedures.

  • JHT reserves the right to apply a minimum amendment fee of USD $50 for any approved changes.

  • Any additional costs incurred as a result of the amendment will be added to the total booking price.

When booking your trip through our website, full payment is required at the time of booking, regardless of the travel date.

  • Upon successful payment, an automated email will be sent to confirm that your payment has been received.

  • However, please note that your booking is not considered confirmed until you receive a personalized confirmation email from a member of our reservations team.

  • This personalized confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours of receiving your online booking.

⚠️ Important: Please do not book your flights until you have received this personalized confirmation from our team.

While we strive to maintain real-time availability on our website, there may be rare instances where multiple bookings are submitted simultaneously. In such cases, actual availability may not be accurately reflected online at the time of your booking.

Finally, please be advised that all terms listed under the "Cancellation and Refunds" section apply to online bookings as well.

At JHT, we expect all guests to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries they visit during their travels. Failure to adhere to local laws releases JHT from any obligations or responsibilities toward the guest.

Additionally, JHT reserves the right to refuse service or future bookings to any guest under the following circumstances:

  • If a guest causes unnecessary inconvenience to others

  • If a guest behaves in an insulting, threatening, abusive, or violent manner—whether in person, by phone, or in writing

  • If a guest damages property or endangers the safety or well-being of others

In such cases, JHT may immediately terminate your travel arrangements without any liability or obligation to issue refunds or cover any costs incurred as a result of the termination.

⚠️ No refunds will be provided under these circumstances.

Furthermore, you and/or your travel companions may be held financially liable for any loss or damage caused as a result of your actions. Full payment for such damages must be made directly and immediately prior to departure.

Please note that each tour listed on our website may be subject to different "Tour Booking Conditions." These conditions can vary depending on the nature, duration, and logistical requirements of the individual tour.

We recommend that you carefully review these conditions before making your booking, as they form an essential part of your agreement with JHT.

  • Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT) reserves the right to modify, edit, add, or remove any of our policies related to payments, cancellations, or refunds at any time. These changes may occur monthly or annually.

  • Any changes, edits, additions, or removals to the policies will be published and communicated in advance. However, these changes will still be subject to the terms and conditions of Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT). Please ensure that you regularly check for any updated terms and conditions, as they may apply without prior notice.

  • As noted, these policies are subject to change. Any updates will be effective for both new and existing bookings, regardless of whether the tour was booked before or after the changes were made.
