Corssing the border - much like taking a flight can be very stressful - between the queues, bus delays which are likely considering how busy Allenby crossing is, and the coordination between authorities on both sides, which can a lot of time. Not to mention at this crossing you need to handle your own luggage, ensure it's boarded on the bus and recieve it on the other side..
Don't forget, Allenby crossing and due to it's unique location and closeness to both Amman and Jerusalem recieves hundreds of travellers at once.
The border authorities as a resolution started to offer the VIP service for an expedited crossing and stress free experience for guests who are interested. What this service entails is expedited crossing; in the sense that a VIP represntative would recieve you at the crossing handle your luggage, paper work and visa / exit stamps etc. then escort you to a private vehicle that transports you to the other side.
You will still need to assume above stated costs yourself.
Corrdination happens between VIP agents on both sides to ensure you're greeted on arrival as well.
This service costs approx. $170 USD per traveller and it is recommended for crossing into Israel.
Please understand, that the border authorities eventually control the border, so if they felt the need to question any traveller, they're free to do, regardless of which type of service you use on your journey.
