This short yet comprehensive journey is ideal for travelers with early arrival or late departure times in Amman, offering a perfect introduction to Jordan’s biblical landmarks, natural wonders, and iconic heritage sites. In just two days, the tour covers the mosaic city of Madaba, the sacred Mount Nebo, relaxation at the Dead Sea, a guided visit to the legendary Petra, and a taste of desert adventure in Wadi Rum. Designed as a private and flexible experience, the itinerary can start from Amman city or Queen Alia International Airport, making it an excellent option for short stays or transit travelers.
In the morning, you will be picked up from your Amman hotel or Queen Alia International Airport and begin your journey south. The first stop is Madaba, home to the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, located inside St. George’s Church.
Continue to Mount Nebo, one of Jordan’s most sacred sites, where Prophet Moses is believed to have viewed the Promised Land. Visit the ancient monastery and enjoy panoramic views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and parts of the Holy Land.
From here, descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Check in at one of the Day Beach Resorts and enjoy free time to relax, float effortlessly in the mineral-rich waters, apply therapeutic mud, and use the resort facilities.
Later in the afternoon, drive approximately 3 hours south to Petra. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Overnight in Petra
After breakfast, meet your local guide at the Petra Visitor Center for a guided exploration of the world-famous Petra, the ancient Nabataean capital and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Walk through the dramatic Siq, admire the iconic Treasury, and continue along the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs, the Roman Theatre, and Qasr Al-Bint. Free time is provided to explore further before returning along the same route.
After lunch in Wadi Musa, continue south to the spectacular desert of Wadi Rum. Enjoy a short 4x4 jeep tour, discovering the area’s unique sandstone landscapes, wide valleys, and desert scenery associated with Lawrence of Arabia.
In the late afternoon, transfer back to Amman or proceed directly to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure.
