This 9-day comprehensive journey through Jordan combines the country’s most iconic archaeological treasures, biblical landmarks, desert landscapes, and natural wonders. From the ancient Roman cities of the north to the rose-red city of Petra, the dramatic desert of Wadi Rum, the Red Sea charm of Aqaba, and the healing waters of the Dead Sea, this itinerary offers a rich blend of history, culture, nature, and relaxation. Carefully paced and well-balanced, the tour includes guided visits, scenic drives, and free time for personal exploration.
Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met before visa control by our representative holding a sign with your name. Assistance will be provided for all formalities, including your free Jordanian visa. You will then meet your driver and transfer to Amman (approx. 30 minutes). Overnight in Amman.
Drive north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world and a former member of the Decapolis. Enjoy a guided tour covering Hadrian’s Arch, the Hippodrome, the Oval Forum, the Colonnaded Street, the Nymphaeum, and the impressive Temple of Artemis.
Continue through pine forests and olive groves to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century fortress built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants to defend the region against Crusader invasions. Visit the castle at your own pace.
Proceed further north to Umm Qais, the ancient city of Gadara, offering panoramic views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Explore the ruins, including the colonnaded street, vaulted terrace, and Roman theatres. Return to Amman for overnight.
Travel east into the desert to visit Jordan’s famous Umayyad Desert Castles:
Qusayr Amra (UNESCO World Heritage Site), renowned for its 8th-century frescoes
Qasr Kharana, a well-preserved two-story structure
Qasr al-Azraq, built from black basalt and famously associated with T.E. Lawrence
Continue to Shaumari Wildlife Reserve, a conservation area established to reintroduce endangered species such as the Arabian oryx and Persian onager. Enjoy a short safari drive, followed by a visit to the Azraq Wetlands, an important stop for migratory birds.
Return to Amman for a city tour, visiting the Citadel, the Archaeological Museum, strolling through the downtown souqs, and seeing the Roman Theatre. Overnight in Amman.
Depart south to Madaba, home to the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map of the Holy Land at St. George’s Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Prophet Moses viewed the Promised Land, with sweeping views over the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea.
Drive along the King’s Highway, stopping at the scenic Wadi Mujib viewpoint, before reaching Karak Castle, one of the largest Crusader castles in the Levant.
Continue to Dana Biosphere Reserve for a panoramic stop overlooking Jordan’s largest nature reserve. Proceed to Petra for overnight.
Enjoy a full visit to Petra, the legendary Nabatean capital. Walk through the Siq to the iconic Treasury, then explore the Street of Facades, Roman Theatre, Colonnaded Street, and Qasr Bint. Free time is available to discover additional highlights such as the Byzantine Church, Temple of the Winged Lions, the Monastery, or the High Place of Sacrifice.
Continue to Little Petra, an ancient suburb of Petra used by traders and caravans. Transfer to Wadi Rum for overnight in a Bedouin camp, enjoying sunset views and stargazing in the desert.
After breakfast, embark on a 4–5 hour 4x4 Jeep tour in Wadi Rum, visiting key sites including the Nabatean Temple, Lawrence’s Spring, sand dunes, Khazali Canyon, Um Fruth Rock Bridge, Lawrence’s House, and the spectacular Burdah Rock Bridge. A Bedouin lunch is included.
Later, drive to Aqaba, Jordan’s Red Sea resort. Enjoy a short city tour and free time, with optional activities such as snorkeling or a glass-bottom boat. Overnight in Aqaba.
(Available April–October) Visit Wadi Mujib Siq Trail for a self-guided water hike through the canyon.
Continue to Baptism Site Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. Proceed to the Dead Sea for swimming and relaxation. Overnight at the Dead Sea.
Enjoy free time at the Dead Sea, floating in its mineral-rich waters and applying therapeutic mud. Visit Ma'in Hot Springs, famous for their hot mineral waterfalls, before returning to Amman for overnight.
Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for departure. End of services.
