Itinerary
This trail takes you off the main track to reach Ad-Deir, or the Monastery, via a back road route. The trail begins at Kharrubat al-Fajja, which is 50 meters west of the main road to Beidha, and ends at Ad-Deir. The beginning of this trail is easy, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the area and the mountain views overlooking Wadi Araba as you walk. From the visitor centre you will need a private transfer to the beginning of this trail, which starts at a site that is just off the main road leading to Beidha.

Trail/Tour Itinerary:
You will meet your guide at the Visitors Centre near the ticketing office. You will need to purchase your entry ticket (or we can purchase/arrange it if it is included with our package). You will then be transferred 15 minutes to the Little Petra Area. This back road trail was a Nabatean Processional Route winding its way through beautiful mountains area to the Monastery. It offers great views of Wadi Araba. You will have a chance to rest at the Monastery before continuing down the mountain and out of Petra via the Main Trail.

Please consider Weekend in Jordan is Fri-Sat. Official National Holidays & Religious Holidays include but not limited to: Easter, Eids, Labor Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve…etc. - (D). Knowledge and recommendations: Booking last minute can be a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to travel. While the spontaneity can add an exciting edge to your plans, it's important to consider that the availability of services might be limited and the quality of services can be compromised. While we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences, it's worth keeping in mind that securing the most sought-after services may be a bit more challenging. : 3. Online Booking and How to Book This Tour (Day Trip in Jordan)
(A) You may book this tour online through our website or contact us by email for assistance.
(B) Online Bookings: When booking online, full payment is required at the time of booking, regardless of the travel date. An automated email will be sent immediately after payment to confirm receipt.
Please note that online bookings are not confirmed until a personalized confirmation email is sent by a member of our reservations team, typically within 24–48 hours of receiving the booking. While we strive to display accurate availability, in rare cases simultaneous bookings may occur and the website may not reflect real-time availability.
: 4. Amendments or Cancellation by JHT
In very rare circumstances, Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT) reserves the right to amend or cancel a booking in the following cases:
(A) Last-minute bookings made within less than 24 hours of the requested travel date.
(B) When a personalized written confirmation email has not been issued by a member of our reservations team. This may occur if contact is made outside working hours, during weekends, national, religious, or other applicable holidays (including Easter, Eid holidays, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve).
(C) In cases of missing or incomplete guest information, where certain details are required to process or operate the booking.
(D) JHT also reserves the right to amend or cancel the tour or itinerary due to service requirements, road or weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Any significant amendment or cancellation will be communicated to customers in writing. JHT cannot be held responsible for services that cannot be provided due to the unavailability of a specific component caused by such circumstances.
(E) Please note that refunds will be applied where applicable if JHT exercises its right to cancel a booking as outlined above.
: 1. Excursions and Activities – Terms, Conditions & Payments
(A) Before and during your tour with Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT), we may provide information about optional activities and excursions in Jordan offered by third-party operators. As these services are operated by independent suppliers, JHT is not involved in their operation and cannot guarantee the accuracy of information relating to such activities beyond our control.
(B) JHT does not guarantee the availability or operation of any optional excursion or activity provided by an independent third party, nor that it will operate as advertised. JHT disclaims any liability in relation to such activities or excursions.
(C) All optional excursions and activities are subject to the supplier’s own terms and conditions and to circumstances such as service requirements, road or weather conditions, or other unforeseen events.
(D) If you choose to include an optional excursion within your Jordan tour package booked with us, it will be added to your original booking, and payment may be made directly to JHT.
(E) If the supplier is unable to operate the excursion for any reason (including service requirements, road or weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances), you will receive a refund for that specific excursion.
: 2. When These Tours Can Be Booked or Added to Your Jordan Tour Package
(A) These tours are only available for booking if a Jordan tour package has already been booked or is being booked with us, and the tour is added to that package. Standalone booking of these tours is not available unless you have already booked, or are in the process of booking, a Jordan tour package.
(B) If you are traveling independently in Jordan (for example, with a rental car and without a tour package), you may contact the local suppliers directly to arrange these tours on your own.
: 3. Booking in Advance or Booking Once You Are in Jordan
(A) Some optional tours cannot be booked in advance and are available only upon arrival in Jordan. Examples include camel riding in Petra and Wadi Rum, golf carts in Petra, Petra by Night, Petra Kitchen, Beit Sitti, and certain optional tours in Aqaba. These activities can be arranged by your driver or guide, and payment is made directly to the driver or the service supplier.
(B) Other optional tours must be booked in advance, such as hot air balloon rides, horse riding in Petra or Wadi Rum, guided tours in Petra, jeep tours or trekking in Wadi Rum, and hiking tours with guides in Dana. These activities are subject to the supplier’s terms and conditions, as well as availability, service requirements, road or weather conditions, and other unforeseen circumstances.
Pro Tip: Some activities and excursions require a minimum number of participants to operate. Even if an excursion is provisionally confirmed well in advance, it may be cancelled by the supplier closer to the date if the minimum number is not met or if weather or safety conditions make it unsafe to operate.
