Itinerary
This customized 8-day pilgrimage is designed to explore the major biblical sites across Jordan, offering a rich blend of religious heritage, history, and breathtaking landscapes. You will visit iconic biblical locations, attend Masses, and experience the deep spiritual significance of this sacred land. Below is a detailed itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Amman Airport – Transfer to Amman
- Arrival: Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met by your guide who will assist with your transfer to your hotel in Amman.
- Evening: Relax after your flight and enjoy a welcome dinner. You’ll have an introduction to the tour and the biblical significance of the sites you will visit.
- Overnight: Stay in Amman.
Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun Castle – Anjara (Lady of the Mountain) - Amman
- Morning: Start your day with a visit to Jerash, one of the best-preserved ancient Roman cities in the world. While exploring its colonnaded streets, temples, and theaters, reflect on the biblical significance of the city in the context of early Christianity.
- Mass: Attend Mass at St. George’s Church in Amman or Jerash.
- Afternoon:
- Head to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Crusader fortress. The castle is strategically located and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
- Visit Anjara: Known as the Lady of the Mountain, Anjara is a significant pilgrimage site dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This is the place where Mary is believed to have rested while traveling to Egypt, and the Church of the Virgin Mary houses a revered icon.
- Stop at Tell Mar Elias (Hill of Elijah), where it is believed that the prophet Elijah lived.
- Evening: Return to Amman.
- Overnight: Stay in Amman.
Day 3: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Mukawir (Machaerus) – Baptism Site – Dead Sea
- Morning:
- Madaba: Visit the famous St. George’s Church, home to the 6th-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, which offers a glimpse into ancient Christian pilgrimage routes.
- Mount Nebo: Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land before his death. Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even parts of Jerusalem on clear days.
- Mukawir (Machaerus): Visit Mukawir, the fortress where King Herod Antipas imprisoned and beheaded John the Baptist. This site offers a dramatic view of the Dead Sea and surrounding landscapes.
- Mass: Celebrate Mass at St. George’s Church in Madaba or a local church in the area.
- Afternoon:
- Visit the Baptism Site of Jesus (Bethany Beyond the Jordan), located on the banks of the Jordan River. This is the site where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
- Drive to the Dead Sea for an opportunity to relax and float in its therapeutic waters.
- Evening: Check into your hotel by the Dead Sea.
- Overnight: Stay at a Dead Sea Resort.
Day 4: Dead Sea – Wadi Al Mujib – Shobak Castle – Petra
- Morning:
- Wadi Al Mujib: Start your day with a visit to Wadi Al Mujib, known as the "Jordanian Grand Canyon." The area has biblical significance as it is near the location where the Israelites are believed to have passed during their Exodus journey.
- Afternoon:
- Visit Shobak Castle, a Crusader fortress built in the early 12th century. It is believed to be a key location during biblical times and offers a dramatic view of the surrounding region.
- Continue to Petra, the ancient city carved into the rock by the Nabateans, which is rich in biblical and historical significance.
- Evening: Check into your hotel in Petra.
- Overnight: Stay in Petra.
Day 5: Petra – Biblical Sites in Petra
- Morning: Explore Petra, focusing on biblical and historical landmarks:
- The Siq, a narrow gorge leading to Petra, believed to have been a significant passage in ancient times.
- The Treasury (Al-Khazneh), one of Petra’s most iconic structures. Some believe it was the location of the biblical “treasure” or a place of sacred significance.
- The High Place of Sacrifice, an ancient altar where offerings were made to God.
- The Church of Petra with its early Christian mosaics.
- Mass: Attend Mass at a local church in Petra.
- Afternoon:
- Continue your exploration of Petra: Visit the Monastery (Ad-Deir), one of Petra’s largest monuments, offering magnificent views over the desert landscapes.
- Optional: Enjoy a traditional Jordanian dinner in Petra, or take a walk through the ancient city.
- Evening: Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.
- Overnight: Stay in Petra.
Day 6: Petra – Wadi Rum (3-Hour Jeep Tour) – Wadi Rum Overnight
- Morning:
- Depart Petra for Wadi Rum, the awe-inspiring desert valley that is connected to biblical events. Wadi Rum is sometimes referred to as the place where Moses and the Israelites wandered after the Exodus.
- Take a 3-hour Jeep tour of Wadi Rum, which includes visits to rock formations, ancient petroglyphs, and other biblical sites.
- Afternoon: After your Jeep tour, enjoy a Bedouin-style lunch and experience the life of the Bedouin people who live in this stunning desert landscape.
- Evening: Enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner in the desert and overnight under the stars in a Bedouin camp or desert resort.
- Overnight: Stay in Wadi Rum.
Day 7: Wadi Rum – Fortress of Umm ar-Rasas – Amman City Tour
- Morning:
- Visit the Fortress of Umm ar-Rasas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning mosaics and ruins from the Byzantine period. The site has biblical significance and contains several Christian churches.
- Explore the Roman mosaics that illustrate biblical themes and other early Christian imagery.
- Afternoon:
- Return to Amman for a City Tour. Visit the Amman Citadel, the Roman Theater, and the Jordan Museum for insights into the region’s biblical history.
- You may also visit St. George's Church in Amman or Our Lady of the Mountain Church for a final Mass.
- Evening: Free time for shopping or relaxation.
- Overnight: Stay in Amman.
Day 8: Amman – Queen Alia International Airport
- Morning: Depending on your flight time, you may have a free morning for last-minute shopping or visiting a local site.
- Departure: Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure flight.
- End of Tour: Depart for home with a heart full of memories from your Biblical journey through Jordan.

Tour Booking Conditions
: 1- Minimum Booking Time, Last-Minute Reservations & JHT Team Availability (STND)
(A) For multi-day tours, reservation requests must be received at least 72 hours prior to the tour start date, taking into account weekends, official holidays, and office hours.
(B) Our tour consultants are available during office hours only: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00–18:00 (Jordan Time, GMT +3). In case of emergencies, guests may contact our main mobile number listed on our website at any time. If you are already in contact with a tour consultant, you may use their direct contact details.
(C) The weekend in Jordan is Friday–Saturday. Official national and religious holidays include, but are not limited to, Easter, Eids, Labor Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
(D) To benefit from the visa fee waiver (applicable when spending two consecutive nights in Jordan), guests must provide passport details in advance. All information is handled securely in accordance with our privacy policy and is used solely for manifest preparation and airport meet-and-greet arrangements.
(E) A visa fee applies to individuals and groups spending one night only in Jordan prior to departure. Visa fees are subject to change without prior notice by the authorities.
(F) Tour confirmation is issued once all required services and accommodations are secured. Most hotel reservation offices operate until 17:00 Jordan time on weekdays.
(G) Last-minute bookings may be subject to limited availability and reduced service options. While JHT will make every effort to meet guest preferences, early planning is strongly recommended to ensure better availability, service quality, and a smoother overall travel experience.
: 2- Quotation and rates for Multi-Day trips in Jordan. STND
-(A)- Our multi-day tours are completely tailor made to fit individual preferences. Because those tours are customized, kindly check with us for rates for your requested tour. Note it is possible to select the desired accommodation standard 3, 4 or 5-star / typically offers are based on standard rooms in related hotels unless otherwise stated, upgraded room categories and / or family rooms would incur a surcharge. If interested to book accommodation directly yourself – please get in touch.
-(B)- Accommodation choices and preferences will be considered, yet can’t be guaranteed as this is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Alternatives of same desired level can be secured (subject to availability).
-(C)- For FTIs (small groups up to 6 guests) - local spot guide in Petra and Jerash would be included (who’d only join during your visit in Petra or Jerash only – if your visit includes either site) please see notes. Yet for groups of 7 guests and more it is mandated by law that we secure a government licensed Guide to escort the group from start till drop off to any destination in Jordan.
-(D)- All quotes are based on English speaking local or government licensed guides. Other languages are subject to availability and can’t be guaranteed especially at peak season times, and can ultimately incur a surcharge.
-(E)- The Local guides (who are at the visitor’s center of Petra site) are assigned at the visitor's center of the site on a turn-basis. Travel Agencies cannot guarantee the quality of their services.
- We endeavor to utilize the guiding services of a licensed guide who is known to our agency. During peak times we might provide you with a guide from the Petra Visitors center. As these guides are not known to our agency, we cannot guarantee the level of their service. Any complaints about problems encountered with the guides from the Petra Visitors center should be directed to the Petra Visitors Centre directly at the conclusion of your guided tour.
: 3- Online Booking & How to Book Multi-Day Tours (STND)
(A) Guests may request to book their desired tour online or by email. All online booking requests are subject to confirmation and are not considered confirmed until a personalized confirmation email is issued by a member of our reservations team, usually within 24–48 hours of receiving the request.
(B) While we strive to display accurate availability on our website, in rare cases simultaneous bookings may occur, and real-time availability may not be fully reflected online.
(C) Accommodation availability for larger groups is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Guests will be informed of available options, which may include alternative hotels, partial availability of standard rooms, or upgraded room categories at an additional cost, allowing guests to make an informed decision.-(B)- We endeavor to display accurate availability on our website, though on rare occasions online bookings are made concurrently with others, and our website cannot reflect this information.
-(C)- Securing accommodation space for larger group is primarily controlled by hotel – camp availability. Feedback will be shared with guests, to determine how best to proceed, example standard rooms may not be fully available, upgraded room types for an additional surcharge could be proposed to guest, our team will make sure you understand your options and can decide accordingly.
: 4- In rare cases, JHT may amend or cancel a booking under the following circumstances: STND
(A) For last-minute bookings made less than 24 hours before the requested service date.
(B) When no personalized confirmation email confirming the booking has been sent by a member of our reservations team, including cases where the JHT team is unavailable due to outside working hours, weekends, national or religious holidays (e.g., Easter, Eid, Christmas, New Year’s Eve).
(C) In cases of missing, incomplete, or incorrect information provided by the guest.
(D) JHT reserves the right to amend or cancel the tour or itinerary due to operational requirements, weather or road conditions, hotel or camp policies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any significant changes or cancellations will be communicated to the customer in writing. JHT cannot be held responsible for services that become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.
(E) Refunds, if applicable, will be processed in accordance with the refund policy.
