Itinerary
Discover the Mountains of Petra & Little Petra - Jordan on horseback where nature is breathtakingly beautiful and rugged. One of its natural wonders is the most impressive landscape in the world; Join us on one of these great rides and enjoy long canters on beautiful desert roads, On the shorter horse rides we explore the beautiful mountains around Petra with fantastic views over Little Petra and the Wadi Araba desert:
A- 03 Hours Horse Riding in the Mountains of Petra and Little Petra:
During the 3-hour horse ride we take you up the mountain, you will have stunning views over a part of Petra, Bedouin Village, Ammarin Village and Little Petra. The terrain is mountainous and rugged and our horses are very forward going so you definitely need to have horse riding experience. For safety reasons we do not take beginners or children on our trails.
*Important info: The ride is NOT inside Petra!
*Price: 60 JOD per person
B-Full Day Horse Riding in in the Mountains of Petra and Little Petra:
During the full day horse ride we take you up the mountain and along the way you will have great views over a part of Petra, Bedouin Village, Ammarin Village and Little Petra. Lunch will be in an old deserted village; Al Hay. After lunch there is time to relax before we ride further up the mountain and then head back to the stable.
*Included: +/- 5 hours horse riding – guide – lunch – water and soft drinks
*Level of riding: Riders need to be able to fully control their horse in a walk, trot and canter!
*Important info: The ride is NOT inside Petra!
*Price: 100 JOD per person
Important Notes:
- Horses in Jordan are sturdy and tough but small in size and therefor the maximum weight we can and will accept for riders is 85 kilo / 187 pounds … when you fill out the form we expect you to be as honest as you would be if you went bungee jumping!
- We use English saddles; we know from experience that this is always a problem for people who have learned to ride on a western saddle only. Even experienced western riders have issues with balance.
- In the months of March, April, May, September, October and November our horses and guides are out on 6-day trail rides most of the time. In between rides our horses need to rest and eat so unfortunately, we can’t schedule anything extra for them.
Additional Details:
We select our horses based on the information we receive from you, therefore it’s very important to be honest about your riding abilities and your weight. Only then we can select the right horse for you.
Horse riding is considered a ‘dangerous’ sport, despite all the safety measures we take, the expertise of the guide and the character of the horses we select there’s always a possible risk.
Every rider is responsible for his or her own safety and if a rider is a danger to himself, to the horse or to other riders the guide has the right to take appropriate action.
We will provide a riding helmet, riding without a helmet is at one’s own risk.
Hereby we make you aware of the possible risks and the fact that the guide cannot be held responsible for any damages or accidents. Every rider needs to be sufficiently insured with regard to accident and illness.
Tour Booking Conditions
: 1-Minimum time for booking Day Trips of in Jordan, last minute booking and Availability of JHT team. DT
-(A). For day tours in Jordan, we will accept reservation requests up to 48 hour before tour commencement date (Please consider weekends, official holidays and office hours indicated below). -(B). Our tour consultants are typically reachable during office hours only: Sun – Thu 10:00-18:00 (Jordan Time: GMT+3). In cases of emergencies, you can reach our team through our main mobile contact shown on our website anytime any day, (or if in contact with you a tour consultant already, you would have their specific contact info directly). -(C). Please consider Weekend in Jordan is Fri-Sat. Official National Holidays & Religious Holidays include but not limited to: Easter, Eids, Labor Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve…etc. - (D). Knowledge and recommendations: Booking last minute can be a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to travel. While the spontaneity can add an exciting edge to your plans, it's important to consider that the availability of services might be limited and the quality of services can be compromised. While we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences, it's worth keeping in mind that securing the most sought-after services may be a bit more challenging. Planning in advance not only secures the best options but also ensures a smoother and more enjoyable journey, allowing you to make the most of your travel experience without the constraints that last-minute bookings might bring.

: 3- Online Booking and / or how to book this tour (Day trip in Jordan)? DT
-(A). You can book it online or please contact us by email. – (B). Kindly note Online bookings: When booking your trip on our website, we kindly ask for the full payment regardless of the booking date. Auto-generated e-mails are sent immediately after payment is made to confirm payment has been received. Online bookings are not confirmed until a personalized email detailing that a booking is confirmed is sent by a member of our reservation team, which will be within 24-48 hours of receiving your online booking. We endeavor to display accurate availability on our website, though on rare occasions online bookings are made concurrently with others, and our website cannot reflect this information.
: 4- In very rare cases, JHT reserves the rights to amend or cancel the booking in the following cases: DT
-(A). In Last minute booking in less than 24 hrs period of the requested date. –(B). When no personalized follow up email detailing that a booking is confirmed is sent by a member of our reservation team. If our JHT team is not available i.e. contact outside working hours, weekends, national holiday, religious holidays or any applicable holiday i.e. Easter, Eids, Christmas, New Year’s Eve…etc. –(C). In cases of missing information on guests’ side as some information is necessary. – (D). Also JHT reserves the right to amend /cancel the tour / itinerary for reasons such as service requirements, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where a change /cancellation is of a significant nature it will be advised to our customers in writing. JHT cannot be held responsible for any service that we are unable to provide due to that particular component being unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. – (E). Note that Refunds will be applied as applicable in case if we have the rights to cancel the booking as explained above.
: 1. Excursions and Activities Terms & Conditions and Payment OTIJ
-(A). We may provide you with information (before and during your tour with Jordan Horizons Tours - JHT) about activities and excursions throughout the course of your tour in Jordan that are offered by third-party operators. Because these excursions will be provided by local operators and independent suppliers, Jordan Horizons Tours - JHT does not have any involvement in how they are run, nor can Jordan Horizons Tours - JHT guarantee the accuracy of information in relation to such activities and excursions outside of our control. –(B). Jordan Horizons Tours - JHT cannot guarantee that an optional excursion or activity operated by an independent third party will be available during your tour in Jordan, or that it will operate as advertised. Jordan Horizons Tours - JHT disclaims any liability in relation to such activities or excursions. –(C). Those tours are subject to the supplier’s Terms and conditions or any other circumstances, i.e : service requirements, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances…etc -(D) If you want to include this tour in your Jordan Tour package with us , this will be added to your original booking and you can pay to us directly & it will be added to the tour .-(E). If the supplier cannot do the tour for you for any reason such as service requirements, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances …etc, you will be refunded for that tour.
: 2. When those tours can be booked or added to your tour package in Jordan OTIJ
-(A). Those tours only available for booking in case if a tour package has been booked and those tour to be added to the package. So, Booking this tour is not available UNLESS you have already booked or you are going to book a tour package in Jordan.-(B). Otherwise if you have a rental car and booking Jordan tour by your own, you can contact them the suppliers of those tours to book it for you.
: 3. Booking in Advance or Booking once you are in Jordan ? OTIJ
-(A). Some optional tours can not be booked in advance and they will be available upon your arrival to Jordan (Examples : camel riding in Petra and Wadi Rum, Golf Carts in Petra, Petra by Night, Petra Kitchen, Beit Setti, optional tours in Aqaba …etc. You can ask your driver/guide to book and arrange them for you , and you can pay to the driver or to the service supplier directly. –(B). However, some of the optional tours should be booked in advance, (i.e Balloon Ride , Horse Riding in Petra or Wadi Rum , Guided tours in Petra , Tours by Jeep or Trekking in wadi rum , Hiking tours and guides in Dana …etc), Those optional tours should be booked in advance and they are subject to the supplier’s Terms and conditions or any other circumstances, i.e : service requirements, availability, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances…etc.
Pro-tip: Some activities and excursions are subject to a minimum number of travelers in order to run, while the excursions could be confirmed by supplier months ahead, closer to date, and if the minimum number to operate was not achieved, or if for weather conditions, it was deemed unsafe to run, the excursions can be cancelled by vendor.
