Day 1: Queen Alia Airport – Amman –Dinner and Overnight

Welcome to Jordan! Arrival to Queen Alia airport. Our representative will meet you before Visa Control with a sign with your name on it. They will take care of all the necessary paperwork for your free Jordanian Visa. They will then take you to meet your drivers & guide. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a place which once captivated ancient travellers, continues to enthral a new generation with its eclectic mix of modernity and tradition. From the enchanting starkness of Wadi Rum, to the restless city centre of urban Amman, and the majestic ruins of civilizations once forgotten. Jordan is a unique destination offering breath-taking sights, charming accommodations, and exquisite cuisine. Jordan is home to countless wonders that are sure to leave you in awe.

At the exit of the airport hall, the groups will be met by a Traditional Jordanian Dance called “Dabka”, One of the most popular traditional dances in Jordan is dabka. This may be performed as gender-segregated or co-ed groups. The dancers line up shoulder-to-shoulder, holding hands or placing arms over the neighbouring two dancers’ shoulders, then move as a group in a circle using steps that are punctuated by kicks and stomps. The accompanying music includes a flute called a Nay, a drum called a Tabl, and a reed instrument called a mizmar. This group dance is popular among Bedouins and non-Bedouins alike, and is often performed at weddings. Jordan has also been affected by an influx of Western dance styles within the Western cultural impact of the last century. These include several ballroom and ballet dance studios in Amman, as well as a regionally recognized and royally supported contemporary dance troupe. After this warm welcome from Jordan traditions, you will be transferred 40 min approx. to your hotel in Amman, check in at your hotel. You will have your own time for rest and relaxation after checking at the hotel.

For that night, you will have a dinner at the Best Restaurant in Amman, Called Tawaheen Al Hawa Restaurant, Tawaheen El Hawa is your typical Lebanese-Jordanian restaurant in Amman serving a large variety of mezze and * BBQs, Jordan Traditional Meals. You enter through a castle like door where two big posters stuck on the door making sure you are familiar with the fact that the restaurant has a 4.5/5 rating on Trip Advisor. A Saj lady welcomes you before entering the external courtyard filled with tables around the waterfall. Tawaheen el Hawa is a casual Mediterranean restaurant where low, wood and leather seats surround the heavy wooden tables. Every large square table comes with a round beautifully designed copper tray placed in the middle where food is served on. It's nice as your plate and drinks are the only thing placed on the table while the food is concentrated on the tray, yet at a handy distance. We arrived early and were offered a mix vegetable platter that was removed when dishes started coming.

After dinner and having for your time for dinner, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 02: Amman – WadI Rum – Jeep Tour – Rum Sky – Overnight
Breakfast 07.00-08.00 am, then leave to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is around 04.00 hrs driving from Amman, on your way to Wadi Rum you will stop for 30 min for a break to have a cup of tea, coffee. etc and to use the WC. You will arrive Wadi Rum around 12.00 – 12.300 pm, you will have to have shadow to avoid the summit of the sun light and the heating of the sun until 03.00 pm which is the time for Jeep Safari tour. You will be welcomed by the Sun City Camp, one of the best camps in Wadi Rum. Upon arrival you will feel the warm Jordanian Bedouin hospitality that comes from the heart of Wadi Rum’s Bedouin, please don’t refuse to have their cup of coffee which is only a sip or may be two. Jordan’s coffee ceremony is elaborate; it not only provides a hot drink, but is also a form of communication. Refusing a cup of coffee is not an option, as it can be construed as an insult to the host. While you are in this biggest dome tent and enjoying the refreshments at the Sun City Camp, there will a Bedouin Musician playing a Bedouin Music: music from the heart!

Their music comes from our hearts. It is one of their ways of desert storytelling. Stories set to music to arouse the imagination of the musicians and their audience. It is like a caravan of camels on a long ride. One musician is in the front. He starts and leads the song. The other musicians follow him one by one—all in a set order and rhythm. The songs are long, with a lot of repetition. Mostly we use the rhythm of a riding camel. It is the rhythm that will capture and hold you. The Music instrument used for this Bedouin music is Rababa , The Rababa is an over 1500 years old bowed string instrument. A one-stringed fiddle held on the lap. It is made from goatskin and the tail of an Arabian racing horse.

After that, you will check in at your tents at the camp, have a shower and relax and be ready for the your 4x4 adventure tour in the desert. Back at 02.00 pm for your light lunch which should be light in order to have good time for small distance hike. At 03.00 pm, be ready to Enjoy the wilderness adventure of a 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges. Start the 04 Hours 4x4 tour. The sites you are going to visit are: Nabatean Temple – Aretas (IV): Used by Nabatean to worship ALLAT (Goddess). This temple was built on the ruins of Allat temple of the AAD TRIBE. Lawrence’s spring: where Lawrence of Arabia reputedly washed during the Arab Revolt. Has an attractive rock inscription on nearby rocks. Sand dunes: large area of sand dunes piled up against the mountains. Fun to climb to the top. Have desert-adapted plants. Khazali canyon: deep, narrow fissure in the mountain side, containing many rock inscriptions. Little bridge: one of the most popular rock bridges in Wadi Rum desert is named for its size. The Um Fruth rock bridge is one of the most photographed places in Wadi Rum. The bridge is about 15 meters up from the desert floor. Lawrence’s House in Wadi Rum is called so because TE Lawrence reportedly slept here during his time in the desert. But actually, the place has a much older history than its namesake. Burdah Rock Bridge/Burdah Arch: This natural rock arch is the largest and most impressive rock arch found in our Protected Area. Then you will be transferred to the best site for Wadi Rum Sunset as per our experience and our clients have loved it. Marvel at the sunset before driving you back to your camp, for dinner.

You have a have a dinner show for your Gala Dinner tonight, you will see how to get the Mandi / Zarb out of the ground, Madni / Zarb is a traditional dish that originated from Hadhramaut, Yemen, consisting mainly of meat and rice with a special blend of spices, cooked in a pit underground. It is extremely popular and prevalent in most areas of the Arabian Peninsula, and even considered a staple dish in many regions. It is also found in Egypt, India, the Levant, and Turkey. Mandi/Zarb was usually made from rice, meat (lamb, camel, goat or chicken), and a mixture of spices called hawaij. The meat used is usually a young and small sized lamb to enhance the taste further. Similar to a Polynesian underground meat roast, the Jordanian Bedouin version of an underground oven is known as Zarb/ Mandi. A mix of meat like lamb and chicken, rice, onions and carrots, are placed in a square hole in the ground, which is filled with flaming hot coals. The hole is then covered with a few layers of blankets to hold in the heat and finally sand is covered over the oven. After a few hours, the meat and rice are all smoked, steamed, and grilled, all at the same time. The result is meat that’s fall apart tender.

Enjoy your time for dinner and then at 11.00 pm be ready for Rum Sky Stargazing Adventure!
