This immersive 12-day journey through Jordan combines the country’s rich history, vibrant culture, and extraordinary natural landscapes with meaningful outdoor experiences. From the lively streets of Amman and the classical ruins of Jerash, to forest hikes in Ajloun, wildlife encounters in Azraq, and multi-day trekking through the spectacular Dana Biosphere Reserve, the tour gradually leads south to the timeless wonders of Petra, the dramatic desert of Wadi Rum, and the serene shores of the Dead Sea.
Designed for travelers seeking cultural depth, soft adventure, and authentic local encounters, this itinerary balances guided sightseeing with nature-based activities and relaxed evenings in carefully selected locations.
Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Jordan – Queen Alia International Airport – Amman
Welcome to Jordan. Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative, followed by a transfer to your hotel in Amman.
The remainder of the evening is at leisure to relax after your journey or explore the vibrant downtown souqs, cafés, and streets of the capital.

Day 2: Amman City Tour & Sightseeing – Amman
Enjoy a full day of guided sightseeing in Amman, Jordan’s dynamic capital. Visit the historic Citadel, the National Archaeological Museum, and the impressive Roman Theatre dating back to the 2nd century.
Continue to the Jordan Museum, offering an excellent introduction to the country’s history and modern identity, before discovering the contemporary western districts of the city, known for their cafés, restaurants, and shopping areas.

Day 3: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun Forest Hike – Ajloun
Depart Amman and travel north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Graeco-Roman cities in the world. Walk along the colonnaded streets and explore the impressive amphitheatre.
Continue to the Ajloun Forest Reserve for a scenic three-hour hike to the village of Orjan, passing through oak, pistachio, and strawberry trees. Stop at Eagle’s Point, a panoramic viewpoint, before descending to meet local women at the soap house, where traditional olive-oil soap is produced.

Day 4: Ajloun – Um Al-Jimal – Shaumari Wildlife Reserve – Azraq
Begin the day with a visit to the Byzantine and Roman ruins of Um Al-Jimal, then continue to the Shaumari Wildlife Reserve, a vital conservation area protecting endangered Middle Eastern species such as the Arabian Oryx and Persian Onager.
Enjoy a guided safari drive through the reserve, with opportunities to spot birdlife including the Imperial Eagle and Egyptian Vulture. Learn basic animal tracking techniques, visit the oryx breeding enclosure, and watch a falconry demonstration.
Later, transfer to Azraq Lodge.

Day 5: Azraq Wetland Reserve – Qasr Azraq – Dana
This morning, enjoy a short walk through the Azraq Wetland Reserve, an important stop for migratory birds and, if fortunate, sightings of water buffalo.
Visit the historic desert fortress of Qasr Azraq, strategically located at the oasis that once served as the only permanent water source across a vast desert region.
Continue south to the charming stone village of Dana, overlooking the dramatic Wadi Dana Gorge.

Day 6: Dana Reserve Trek – Feynan Eco Lodge
Spend the day trekking through the spectacular Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan’s largest protected area. Walk alongside local Bedouin farmers, observe diverse flora and fauna, and learn about endangered species such as the Nubian Ibex and the vibrant Syrian Serin.
The trek passes through four distinct ecosystems, from rugged mountains to the desert landscapes of Wadi Araba, before arriving at the renowned Feynan Eco Lodge (approx. 14 km).

Day 7: Feynan – Little Petra – Beidha – Petra
Explore the Roman remains near Feynan, then drive to Siq Al-Barid (Little Petra), once a Nabataean caravan stop accessed through a narrow gorge similar to Petra’s Siq. Discover rock-cut stairways, temples, and rare surviving Nabataean wall paintings.
Continue to Beidha, a UNESCO-listed Neolithic site over 9,000 years old, considered one of the world’s earliest permanent settlements.
In the late afternoon, transfer to Petra.

Day 8: Petra Sightseeing – Petra
Discover the iconic Rose-Red City of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Walk through the dramatic Siq to reach Al-Khazneh (the Treasury), then explore the Street of Facades, the Roman Theatre, and the Byzantine Museum.
For those who wish, there is an opportunity to climb the 800 steps to Ad-Deir (the Monastery), offering spectacular panoramic views.

Day 9: Petra – High Place of Sacrifice – Wadi Rum
Return to Petra for a light morning hike to the High Place of Sacrifice, rewarding you with sweeping views over the ancient city and the Treasury below.
In the afternoon, travel south to the desert of Wadi Rum. Enjoy an exciting 4x4 jeep safari through vast red sands, towering rock formations, and rolling dunes.
Arrive at your desert camp in time to watch the sunset, followed by a traditional Jordanian dinner and overnight camping beneath the stars.

Day 10: Wadi Rum – Karak – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Dead Sea
Depart Wadi Rum and travel north to visit the impressive Crusader Castle of Karak.
Continue to Madaba, home to the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map at St. George’s Church, as well as the Madaba Museum and Archaeological Park.
Proceed to Mount Nebo for breathtaking views over the Holy Land, before descending to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

Day 11: Dead Sea – Free Time
Enjoy a full day at leisure at the Dead Sea. Float effortlessly in its mineral-rich waters and relax with a therapeutic mud bath.
Optional adventure (seasonal): canyoning through Wadi Mujib’s Siq Trail (available April–October).

Day 12: Dead Sea – Amman Airport – Departure
Your journey through Jordan comes to an end today. After breakfast, transfer from the Dead Sea to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure.

Tour Booking Conditions
: 1- Minimum Booking Time, Last-Minute Reservations & JHT Team Availability (STND)
(A) For multi-day tours, reservation requests must be received at least 72 hours prior to the tour start date, taking into account weekends, official holidays, and office hours.
(B) Our tour consultants are available during office hours only: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00–18:00 (Jordan Time, GMT +3). In case of emergencies, guests may contact our main mobile number listed on our website at any time. If you are already in contact with a tour consultant, you may use their direct contact details.
(C) The weekend in Jordan is Friday–Saturday. Official national and religious holidays include, but are not limited to, Easter, Eids, Labor Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
(D) To benefit from the visa fee waiver (applicable when spending two consecutive nights in Jordan), guests must provide passport details in advance. All information is handled securely in accordance with our privacy policy and is used solely for manifest preparation and airport meet-and-greet arrangements.
(E) A visa fee applies to individuals and groups spending one night only in Jordan prior to departure. Visa fees are subject to change without prior notice by the authorities.
(F) Tour confirmation is issued once all required services and accommodations are secured. Most hotel reservation offices operate until 17:00 Jordan time on weekdays.
(G) Last-minute bookings may be subject to limited availability and reduced service options. While JHT will make every effort to meet guest preferences, early planning is strongly recommended to ensure better availability, service quality, and a smoother overall travel experience.
: 2- Quotation and rates for Multi-Day trips in Jordan. STND
-(A)- Our multi-day tours are completely tailor made to fit individual preferences. Because those tours are customized, kindly check with us for rates for your requested tour. Note it is possible to select the desired accommodation standard 3, 4 or 5-star / typically offers are based on standard rooms in related hotels unless otherwise stated, upgraded room categories and / or family rooms would incur a surcharge. If interested to book accommodation directly yourself – please get in touch.
-(B)- Accommodation choices and preferences will be considered, yet can’t be guaranteed as this is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Alternatives of same desired level can be secured (subject to availability).
-(C)- For FTIs (small groups up to 6 guests) - local spot guide in Petra and Jerash would be included (who’d only join during your visit in Petra or Jerash only – if your visit includes either site) please see notes. Yet for groups of 7 guests and more it is mandated by law that we secure a government licensed Guide to escort the group from start till drop off to any destination in Jordan.
-(D)- All quotes are based on English speaking local or government licensed guides. Other languages are subject to availability and can’t be guaranteed especially at peak season times, and can ultimately incur a surcharge.
-(E)- The Local guides (who are at the visitor’s center of Petra site) are assigned at the visitor's center of the site on a turn-basis. Travel Agencies cannot guarantee the quality of their services.
- We endeavor to utilize the guiding services of a licensed guide who is known to our agency. During peak times we might provide you with a guide from the Petra Visitors center. As these guides are not known to our agency, we cannot guarantee the level of their service. Any complaints about problems encountered with the guides from the Petra Visitors center should be directed to the Petra Visitors Centre directly at the conclusion of your guided tour.
: 3- Online Booking & How to Book Multi-Day Tours (STND)
(A) Guests may request to book their desired tour online or by email. All online booking requests are subject to confirmation and are not considered confirmed until a personalized confirmation email is issued by a member of our reservations team, usually within 24–48 hours of receiving the request.
(B) While we strive to display accurate availability on our website, in rare cases simultaneous bookings may occur, and real-time availability may not be fully reflected online.
(C) Accommodation availability for larger groups is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Guests will be informed of available options, which may include alternative hotels, partial availability of standard rooms, or upgraded room categories at an additional cost, allowing guests to make an informed decision.-(B)- We endeavor to display accurate availability on our website, though on rare occasions online bookings are made concurrently with others, and our website cannot reflect this information.
-(C)- Securing accommodation space for larger group is primarily controlled by hotel – camp availability. Feedback will be shared with guests, to determine how best to proceed, example standard rooms may not be fully available, upgraded room types for an additional surcharge could be proposed to guest, our team will make sure you understand your options and can decide accordingly.
: 4- In rare cases, JHT may amend or cancel a booking under the following circumstances: STND
(A) For last-minute bookings made less than 24 hours before the requested service date.
(B) When no personalized confirmation email confirming the booking has been sent by a member of our reservations team, including cases where the JHT team is unavailable due to outside working hours, weekends, national or religious holidays (e.g., Easter, Eid, Christmas, New Year’s Eve).
(C) In cases of missing, incomplete, or incorrect information provided by the guest.
(D) JHT reserves the right to amend or cancel the tour or itinerary due to operational requirements, weather or road conditions, hotel or camp policies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any significant changes or cancellations will be communicated to the customer in writing. JHT cannot be held responsible for services that become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.
(E) Refunds, if applicable, will be processed in accordance with the refund policy.
