Set against Jordan’s breathtaking landscapes, Thakafat (meaning Cultures) is more than a project—it's a living tribute to Jordanian heritage. Led by passionate local women, Thakafat creates part-time opportunities in underserved areas and highlights the creativity and resilience of its communities. You'll find their footprint in Petra, Aqaba, Wadi Rum, As-Salt, Madaba, and Ajloun.
Thakafat offers hands-on cultural experiences that go far beyond observation. Guests are invited to actively participate—learn to make mosaics in Madaba, cook with Esraa’s Kitchen, craft local products in Salt, enjoy nature-based experiences in Ajloun, or celebrate by the sea in Aqaba. It’s cultural immersion with a WOW factor—authentic, joyful, and unforgettable.
Thakafat sources its supplies from small local businesses and charitable associations—supporting bakeries, groceries, and artisans. Every visit contributes directly to the economic empowerment of local families, especially women, and helps preserve Jordan’s cultural identity.
