Sedan cars are often used for our private transfers for 1-4 passengers maximum, with luggage stored in the trunk. Example car models include the Toyota Camry, Kia Cerato, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Altima, and others. All of the sedan cars we use in Jordan are brand new, used specifically for tourism, and must not be more than 5 years old.
Most of the sedan cars in Jordan are either Toyota Camry or Hyundai models, such as the Sonata
Luggage is stored in the trunk. The mini-van is a small bus with 8 seats: 7 seats for guests and 1 for the driver, or 6 seats for guests with 2 seats for the driver and guide. Most of the mini-vans in Jordan are brand new, used for tourism, and must not be more than 5 years old. Common models used in Jordan include the Toyota HiAce, Hyundai H1, and Mercedes-Benz Van (the latter is available at an additional cost and upon request).

The 12-seater van (10 seats for guests, plus a guide and driver) is larger than the mini-van and smaller than the coaster bus, providing a very comfortable ride. Luggage is stored in the trunk.
Most of the vans in Jordan are either Hyundai H350 or Toyota HiAce models
For tours, we limit the number of passengers to 13. The mini bus/coaster bus is an 18-seater (16 seats for guests, plus a guide and driver), and is larger than the microbus. However, we usually restrict the capacity to 13 people to ensure there is ample luggage space and to make the trip more comfortable with fewer passengers.
Most of the buses with 16-18 seats in Jordan are Toyota Coaster models
The models of medium and large buses include the Mercedes-Benz 1836, Mercedes-Benz Tourismo, Mercedes-Benz 1842, MAN, and other models. According to Jordanian tourism laws, these buses must be accompanied by a licensed Jordanian tour guide. They can accommodate a maximum of 14-30 people and have enough space for luggage in the trunk.

Our driver services go beyond just transportation. Each of our drivers is professional, courteous, and committed to ensuring your travel experience is seamless:
When you book with Jordan Horizons Tours, an English-speaking driver will accompany you (if your final itinerary includes transfers). Your driver will assist you throughout the tour, but please note the following:
At iconic sites such as Petra, Jerash, and the Amman Citadel, it is mandatory to use local guides. This is in line with the regulations set by the visitor centers at these locations. These guides provide rich, detailed insights into the history and significance of each site, ensuring you get the most out of your visit. The cost of local guides is included in our quotations for tours to these destinations.
For groups of seven or more travelers in a single vehicle, the Jordanian government and the Ministry of Tourism require that a licensed guide accompany the group for the entire duration of the trip. The guide will greet you upon arrival in Jordan and stay with your group until your departure. The guide is also responsible for handling the group’s documentation, such as the visa manifest, which is stamped upon arrival by Jordanian authorities.
Additionally, group tours are escorted by police officers to ensure the safety and security of the group throughout the journey. It is a violation of local laws for groups of seven or more to travel without a guide and a police escort.
For smaller groups of six or fewer travelers, many wonder whether it’s necessary to hire a guide. Jordan offers a wealth of experiences for both guided and independent travelers. Here’s a brief overview of the pros and cons of hiring a guide:
Many travelers find a balanced approach works best. You can hire a guide for complex sites such as Petra or Wadi Rum, where their knowledge enhances your visit, and explore smaller towns or less touristy areas on your own.
Jordan Horizons Tours offers a wide range of transportation and guiding services tailored to all types of travelers. Whether you prefer the support and knowledge of a licensed guide or the flexibility of independent travel, we ensure your journey through Jordan is comfortable, safe, and unforgettable. Let us help you experience Jordan’s breathtaking landscapes, historic treasures, and warm hospitality in a way that suits your travel style.
