The number of visitors to the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ (Al-Maghtas) from the beginning of this year until the beginning of August reached 56,069, including 42,897 foreigners tourists , 7,598 Jordanians, and 5,574 Arabs, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism.
The data shows that foreigners tourists constitute 77% of the total visitors.
The Baptism Site, located approximately 9 km north of the Dead Sea, is one of the holiest sites on earth for all Christian denominations. Efforts to preserve and protect it are part of our historical responsibility to the holy sites located east of the Jordan River.
