This comprehensive 14-day journey through Jordan offers an in-depth exploration of the Kingdom’s ancient civilizations, biblical heritage, natural reserves, and living Bedouin culture. Beginning and ending in Amman, the itinerary combines iconic highlights such as Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and the Baptism Site, with immersive experiences in Dana Biosphere Reserve, Feynan, and Jordan’s northern Decapolis cities.
Balanced pacing, scenic drives, guided visits, and free time ensure a well-rounded, enriching, and comfortable experience, ideal for travelers seeking culture, history, nature, and relaxation.
Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Queen Alia International Airport – Amman
Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, where you will be met by our representative before visa control for assistance with arrival formalities and your complimentary Jordanian visa. You will then meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in Amman (approx. 30 minutes).

Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Umm Qais – Amman
Travel north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities of the Decapolis. Enjoy a guided tour covering Hadrian’s Arch, the Hippodrome, Oval Forum, Temple of Artemis, Colonnaded Street, and the Nymphaeum.
Continue through pine forests to Ajloun, visiting Al-Rabad (Ajloun) Castle, a 12th-century Ayyubid fortress built by Saladin’s forces.
Proceed further north to Umm Qais (Gadara), overlooking the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights, and explore its colonnaded streets, theaters, and panoramic viewpoints.

Day 3: Amman – Desert Castles – Shaumari & Azraq Reserves – Amman
Head east into the desert to explore the Umayyad Desert Castles:

Qasr Kharana, reflecting diverse architectural influences

Qasr Al-Azraq, built of black basalt and famously used by T.E. Lawrence
Visit Shaumari Wildlife Reserve, a key conservation site for the Arabian oryx, gazelles, and onagers, followed by the Azraq Wetland Reserve, an important stop for migratory birds.

Day 4: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Wadi Mujib Viewpoint – Karak – Dana
Visit Madaba, home to the renowned 6th-century Mosaic Map of the Holy Land at St. George’s Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Prophet Moses viewed the Promised Land, with sweeping views over the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea.
Drive along the King’s Highway, stopping at the Wadi Mujib viewpoint, then visit Karak Castle, one of the most impressive Crusader fortresses in the region.
Arrive at Dana Biosphere Reserve and enjoy the guided sunset walk, a gentle hike offering spectacular mountain views and Bedouin tea.

Day 5: Dana – Shobak Castle – Wadi Al Ghwair Hike – Feynan
Visit Shobak Castle (Montreal), a Crusader stronghold overlooking the Arabah Valley.
Continue to the Wadi Al Ghwair trail, one of Jordan’s most dramatic canyon hikes, following a flowing stream through narrow sandstone formations. After the hike, continue via Khirbet Feynan to reach the eco-friendly Feynan Ecolodge.

Day 6: Feynan – Little Petra
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Feynan before driving to Little Petra (Al Beidha), once a Nabataean suburb and caravan stop. Walk through its narrow sandstone canyon lined with carved dwellings, water channels, and storage areas.

Day 7: Little Petra – Petra (Main Trail)
A full day exploring Petra, the legendary Nabataean capital and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the Siq to the iconic Treasury, then visit the Street of Facades, Roman Theatre, Colonnaded Street, and Qasr Al-Bint.
Free time allows optional exploration of sites such as the Monastery, Byzantine Church, or High Place of Sacrifice.

Day 8: Petra – Wadi Rum
Transfer to Wadi Rum, the dramatic desert of sandstone mountains and vast valleys. Meet your local Bedouin guide and enjoy a 4–5 hour 4x4 desert safari, visiting Lawrence’s Spring, Khazali Canyon, sand dunes, Um Frouth Rock Bridge, Lawrence House, and Burdah Rock Bridge.
Watch the sunset and enjoy traditional Bedouin hospitality under the stars.

Day 9: Wadi Rum – Aqaba
After breakfast and sunrise in the desert, drive to Aqaba, Jordan’s only coastal city. Enjoy a brief city orientation including Aqaba Fortress, Aqaba Museum, and the Marine Science Station Aquarium.
The remainder of the day is free, with optional activities such as snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, or leisure time by the Red Sea.

Day 10: Aqaba – Baptism Site – Dead Sea
Drive north to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the sacred Baptism Site of Jesus Christ, one of Christianity’s most important pilgrimage locations.
Continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, and enjoy free time to float in its mineral-rich waters and relax at your resort.

Day 11: Dead Sea – (Optional Wadi Mujib) – Ma’in Hot Springs – Amman
Free time at the Dead Sea until noon. Optional visit to Wadi Mujib Biosphere Reserve (seasonal), famous for its canyon trails and biodiversity.
Later, visit Ma’in Hot Springs (Hammamat Ma’in), where mineral-rich waterfalls cascade into natural pools. Continue to Amman.

Day 12: Amman City Tour – Salt City – Amman
Explore Amman, visiting the Citadel, Archaeological Museum, downtown souqs, and the Roman Theatre.
Continue to Al-Salt, a historic Ottoman-era town known for its heritage houses, museums, and traditional streets.

Tour Booking Conditions
: 1- Minimum Booking Time, Last-Minute Reservations & JHT Team Availability (STND)
(A) For multi-day tours, reservation requests must be received at least 72 hours prior to the tour start date, taking into account weekends, official holidays, and office hours.
(B) Our tour consultants are available during office hours only: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00–18:00 (Jordan Time, GMT +3). In case of emergencies, guests may contact our main mobile number listed on our website at any time. If you are already in contact with a tour consultant, you may use their direct contact details.
(C) The weekend in Jordan is Friday–Saturday. Official national and religious holidays include, but are not limited to, Easter, Eids, Labor Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
(D) To benefit from the visa fee waiver (applicable when spending two consecutive nights in Jordan), guests must provide passport details in advance. All information is handled securely in accordance with our privacy policy and is used solely for manifest preparation and airport meet-and-greet arrangements.
(E) A visa fee applies to individuals and groups spending one night only in Jordan prior to departure. Visa fees are subject to change without prior notice by the authorities.
(F) Tour confirmation is issued once all required services and accommodations are secured. Most hotel reservation offices operate until 17:00 Jordan time on weekdays.
(G) Last-minute bookings may be subject to limited availability and reduced service options. While JHT will make every effort to meet guest preferences, early planning is strongly recommended to ensure better availability, service quality, and a smoother overall travel experience.
: 2- Quotation and rates for Multi-Day trips in Jordan. STND
-(A)- Our multi-day tours are completely tailor made to fit individual preferences. Because those tours are customized, kindly check with us for rates for your requested tour. Note it is possible to select the desired accommodation standard 3, 4 or 5-star / typically offers are based on standard rooms in related hotels unless otherwise stated, upgraded room categories and / or family rooms would incur a surcharge. If interested to book accommodation directly yourself – please get in touch.
-(B)- Accommodation choices and preferences will be considered, yet can’t be guaranteed as this is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Alternatives of same desired level can be secured (subject to availability).
-(C)- For FTIs (small groups up to 6 guests) - local spot guide in Petra and Jerash would be included (who’d only join during your visit in Petra or Jerash only – if your visit includes either site) please see notes. Yet for groups of 7 guests and more it is mandated by law that we secure a government licensed Guide to escort the group from start till drop off to any destination in Jordan.
-(D)- All quotes are based on English speaking local or government licensed guides. Other languages are subject to availability and can’t be guaranteed especially at peak season times, and can ultimately incur a surcharge.
-(E)- The Local guides (who are at the visitor’s center of Petra site) are assigned at the visitor's center of the site on a turn-basis. Travel Agencies cannot guarantee the quality of their services.
- We endeavor to utilize the guiding services of a licensed guide who is known to our agency. During peak times we might provide you with a guide from the Petra Visitors center. As these guides are not known to our agency, we cannot guarantee the level of their service. Any complaints about problems encountered with the guides from the Petra Visitors center should be directed to the Petra Visitors Centre directly at the conclusion of your guided tour.
: 3- Online Booking & How to Book Multi-Day Tours (STND)
(A) Guests may request to book their desired tour online or by email. All online booking requests are subject to confirmation and are not considered confirmed until a personalized confirmation email is issued by a member of our reservations team, usually within 24–48 hours of receiving the request.
(B) While we strive to display accurate availability on our website, in rare cases simultaneous bookings may occur, and real-time availability may not be fully reflected online.
(C) Accommodation availability for larger groups is subject to hotel or camp availability and policies. Guests will be informed of available options, which may include alternative hotels, partial availability of standard rooms, or upgraded room categories at an additional cost, allowing guests to make an informed decision.-(B)- We endeavor to display accurate availability on our website, though on rare occasions online bookings are made concurrently with others, and our website cannot reflect this information.
-(C)- Securing accommodation space for larger group is primarily controlled by hotel – camp availability. Feedback will be shared with guests, to determine how best to proceed, example standard rooms may not be fully available, upgraded room types for an additional surcharge could be proposed to guest, our team will make sure you understand your options and can decide accordingly.
: 4- In rare cases, JHT may amend or cancel a booking under the following circumstances: STND
(A) For last-minute bookings made less than 24 hours before the requested service date.
(B) When no personalized confirmation email confirming the booking has been sent by a member of our reservations team, including cases where the JHT team is unavailable due to outside working hours, weekends, national or religious holidays (e.g., Easter, Eid, Christmas, New Year’s Eve).
(C) In cases of missing, incomplete, or incorrect information provided by the guest.
(D) JHT reserves the right to amend or cancel the tour or itinerary due to operational requirements, weather or road conditions, hotel or camp policies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any significant changes or cancellations will be communicated to the customer in writing. JHT cannot be held responsible for services that become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.
(E) Refunds, if applicable, will be processed in accordance with the refund policy.
