This 8 day Jordan tour package brings together the country’s essential cultural, historical and natural attractions in one well-balanced itinerary. Begin in Amman, explore the Roman city of Jerash and the hilltop castles of northern Jordan, then travel south along the King’s Highway to Petra.

The journey continues through the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum and the Red Sea city of Aqaba before finishing at Bethany Beyond the Jordan and the Dead Sea. Jordan Horizons Tours can adapt the route to your flight schedule, travel interests, hotel preferences and preferred pace.

Day-by-day plan

8-Day Jordan Tour Itinerary

Follow a complete Jordan route from airport arrival to Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Dead Sea.

Day 1: Arrival in Amman

Welcome to Jordan. Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, a Jordan Horizons Tours representative will assist with the arrival process before you meet your driver and transfer to Amman. Depending on your flight time, an optional Amman experience may be arranged.

Day 2: Jerash, Ajloun and Umm Qais

Travel through northern Jordan to Jerash, one of the region’s best-preserved Roman cities. Continue to Ajloun Castle, built during the time of Saladin, then visit Umm Qais for panoramic views toward the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Return to Amman in the evening.

Day 3: Amman City Tour and Desert Castles

Discover Amman’s leading landmarks, including the Citadel, Roman Theater and local markets. Continue east to Jordan’s desert castles, including Qusayr Amra, Qasr Kharana and Qasr Al-Azraq, for an introduction to the country’s early Islamic heritage.

Day 4: King’s Highway to Petra

Follow the scenic King’s Highway south. Visit Madaba and its famous mosaic map, continue to Mount Nebo, admire the dramatic landscapes near Wadi Mujib and explore Karak Castle. When timing permits, Shobak Castle may also be included before arrival in Petra.

Day 5: Petra and Wadi Rum

Spend the day exploring Petra, the legendary Nabatean city carved into rose-red sandstone. Walk through the Siq to the Treasury and continue through the main archaeological area. Later, transfer to Wadi Rum for a memorable desert evening and warm Bedouin hospitality.

Day 6: Wadi Rum Jeep Tour and Aqaba

Begin the morning with a 4x4 jeep excursion through Wadi Rum’s dramatic desert scenery. Visit well-known natural and cultural points of interest, including sand dunes, canyons, rock formations and areas associated with Lawrence of Arabia. Continue to Aqaba for leisure time or optional Red Sea activities.

Day 7: Baptism Site and Dead Sea

Travel north to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ and one of Jordan’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Continue to the Dead Sea, where you can relax, float in its mineral-rich water and enjoy the exceptional setting at the lowest point on Earth.

Day 8: Dead Sea and Departure

Enjoy a relaxed morning at the Dead Sea before your private transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for departure. The transfer time will be arranged according to your flight schedule.
