The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority hosted a unique cultural and artistic event as part of the UIPUV 2026 program (Un Invito Poi Un Viaggio), with the participation of approximately 120 visitors from Italy on a Christian pilgrimage to Jordan. The event was organized by the Officina del Sole Foundation in cooperation with the Italian rock band The Sun and the Habibi Association.
The city of Petra offered visitors an exceptional experience, as an acoustic music performance was held in a magical nighttime atmosphere within the archaeological site in front of the Treasury. The performance combined music and cultural exchange, reflecting the site's historical and human significance.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, Engineer Adnan Al-Sawa'ir, emphasized that hosting such high-quality events is part of the Authority's ongoing efforts to enhance Petra's position as a global tourist destination that embraces various forms of cultural and religious tourism. He added that this contributes to diversifying the tourism product and attracting new types of tourists, particularly from European countries. Al-Sawa'ir also noted the significant participation in the event and its contribution to promoting Jordan internationally through media coverage that will showcase Petra as a safe destination rich in unique experiences to various Italian media outlets.
Al-Sawa'ir commended the cooperation with the organizers, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to supporting initiatives that highlight Jordan's cultural heritage and strengthen its presence on the global tourism map.
